Organised by BC EXPO South Africa (Pty) Ltd., the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and Messe München International, this expo event is an international trade fair. Showcasing construction machinery, building material machines, construction vehicles as well as mining equipment, the main focus areas of this fair includes the mining sector and the construction industry.

In 2013, as part of a joint venture in Africa between the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and Messe München and their joint cooperation on international construction machinery expos and events, it was announced that the upcoming trade fair will be organised under the new name – BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA.

2013 was a successful year for this particular event, boasting a whopping 14 700 visitors, 754 exhibitors and visitors from over 100 countries.
