Chassis and off-road capabilities of the Unimog

With regards to attachments and mounting areas, both the U4000 and the U5000 come built with features maximising mounting area capabilities. The Mercedes Benz Unimog U4000 and the U5000 come built with a double three-point mounting system that allows for twist and stain free mounting.
With this mounting system you even have the capability to use either your Mercedes Unimog U5000 to mount superstructures. You can also, as an added option, install a sub-frame together with the double three-point mounting to allow for easier fitting of box-type superstructures and to be able to carry larger superstructures such as building cranes.
